Family-run guest house above a fishing village where the seine nets still come in.
Castara has no resorts, one road and a beach where the village still pulls seine nets at dawn. Our six rooms look straight down into the bay.
Breakfast is on the veranda; dinner is whatever the boats brought back.
Quiet, spotless, and the directions they send ahead of time are the clearest I've had anywhere.
The property is beautiful but we had no hot water for two days and it took a lot of messages to get someone out. Mixed feelings.
Location is unbeatable and the terrace is huge. We hosted a dinner for eight without any trouble.
